Opera instead of maths

“Make the opera come alive for young audience members” – that is the objective of the Education project that Haniel has been sponsoring at two Duisburg schools since 2011. Together with the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, the company gives pupils the opportunity of up to three visits to the opera during their school time. Bicycle Repair Shop

In the basement of a building in Nikolausburg, Duisburg, the Ruhrorter Hafenkids are beavering away with their screwdrivers, sandpaper and cleaning rags. Every Friday evening, they meet here to make old bikes roadworthy again. They are helped by Haniel employee, Ugur Bozkurt.
